Integrated System for wildland fires (IS4FIRES) v.1.3 and SILAM v.4.5 fire monitoring and air quality forecasts

 

 

Introduction

IS4FIRES is built on the basis of active-fire remote-sensing observations following the algorithm described in Sofiev et al, (2009).

IS4FIRES utilizes two semi-independent datasets built on the (i) Temperature Anomaly and (ii) Fire Radiative Power.

Based on these two products the IS4FIRES+SILAM system generates:

-          Europe, Temperature Anomaly,: particulate matter emission estimates and forecasts for the fire-induced smoke.

-          Europe, Fire Radiative Power: particulate matter emission estimates and forecasts for the fire-induced smoke.

-          Finland and Baltic States, rapid-delivery Fire Radiative Power: particulate matter emission estimates
